COVID-19 STATEMENT: OFFICIAL UPDATE
Through discussions with our supporting partner Durham College, the professors of Music Business Management and the dean of the School of Media, Art & Design, we have collectively decided to cancel the 20th Annual Oshawa Music Week due to the health concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is a great disappointment to all of us, but we must prioritize the health and safety of our attendees, musicians, volunteers, students, and communities. Based on the rapid developing global situation of COVID-19, we are confident this is the right decision for everyone’s safety. Please continue to stay informed on this ongoing health situation and take the necessary steps directed by public health officials.
We will be refunding all ticket sales within the next 48 hours. In the event you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to email us at
All of the profits from Oshawa Music Week were to be donated to this year's chosen charity, Unison Benevolent Fund. Despite this cancellation, we would still like to help fundraise for this vital industry organization. We are asking for anyone who is able to, please donate through our GoFundMe page as 100% of the funds will be donated. The Canadian music industry is relying on Unison’s emergency relief, financial, counselling and health assistance now more than ever. With nationwide cancellations of festivals, tours, and concerts of all sizes, members of the music industry are left without work and are seeking Unison’s assistance.
We would like to give thanks, and our uttermost respect to all persons involved in the 20th Annual Oshawa Music Week vision. We are so grateful for all the support we have received from local artists, venues, promoters, sponsors, professors, Durham College and eager attendees. Thank you for your ongoing support. On behalf of Oshawa Music Week, we are looking forward to celebrating our local music scene with you again in 2021.
